Cooly Rocks On

If you are into the 50's and 60's and love rock 'n roll, then a visit to the Cooly Rocks  On nostalgia festival is a must for your calendar.  You'll see the best rock 'n roll dance bands up to 1000 classic cars, rods and theme cars.  Rock 'n roll markets to fit you out with the shoes, clothes and even the hairstyles to put you right back in the 50's.

Cooly Rocks On have stages at both ends of Marine Parade and one at the southern end of Griffith Street, operating from around 10am till 4pm with all types of swing, rock 'n roll and rockabilly bands.  You can join in and have a dance on the bitumen if your knees and shoes can handle it or just watch the crowd having fun.

Cooly Rocks On has taken over from the old Wintersun Rock 'n Roll and being one of the biggest festivals of its kind in Australia, you need to book your accomodation early if you are coming next year.  Just a word of advice when you are booking your accommodation.  Jump on Google Maps and check out where you intend to stay,  because some key roads are blocked for the festival, you really need to be within walking distance of the venues that you intend to visit.  Also check the weather forecast in the week prior to departure because Cooly can be fairly cool if the winds are up from the south.

Remember to support local live bands where you can or it won't be long before all we get at pubs and clubs is rock 'n roll karaoke.  Keep on rockin'.
